Sustainable Startup & Entepreneurship Conference 2025

On behalf of MIT Group Foundation and UNDO – United Nepali Diaspora, we are organising the Sustainable Startup & Entrepreneurship Conference 2025 in collaboration with NYEF Kathmandu.

The theme  “From Roots to Growth: Mobilizing Diaspora Investments and Innovation to Power Nepal’s Sustainable Economy.” Our goal is to explore ways to leverage diaspora investments, public-private partnerships, and innovative financing models to drive agribusiness growth and rural economic transformation in Nepal.

MIT Group Foundation works to promote sustainable development and social entrepreneurship in Nepal, addressing economic and environmental challenges through long-term partnerships. UNDO (United Nepali Diaspora Organisation) unites the Nepali diaspora to support sustainable development in Nepal, fostering collaboration and resource mobilization. NYEF Kathmandu supports young entrepreneurs in Nepal by providing mentorship and resources to drive innovation and economic growth.

The conference will feature four expert-led panel discussions addressing pivotal topics, including sustainability, diaspora startup investment, and public-private partnerships. These sessions will bring together industry leaders, diaspora entrepreneurs, and policymakers to engage in meaningful dialogue on the strategies and innovations that will propel Nepal’s sustainable economic growth. The discussions are designed to foster collaborative solutions, enhance sectoral synergy, and identify actionable opportunities for long-term impact.

Following the four panel discussions, the winner of the Future Roots Award will be announced, recognizing the startup with the most impactful and innovative concept. The competition, which began prior to the event, sought startups that exhibit a strong commitment to sustainability—across environmental, social, or economic dimensions. The winner will be unveiled and awarded a cash prize  in acknowledgment of their outstanding vision. The day will continue with networking drinks, a cocktail dinner, and the opportunity to explore various business stalls, which will be featuring sustainable businesses, including those focused on agriculture and other eco-friendly innovations.
