MIT Group Foundation Launches Rs 1 Billion Initiative for Education and Healthcare in Nepal's Remote Regions

MIT Group Foundation is proud to announce a monumental contribution of Rs 1 billion towards enhancing educational and healthcare services in Nepal's most underserved areas. This initiative, led by our founders Shesh Ghale and Jamuna Gurung—whose net worth totals $265 million in Australia—is a testament to their deep connection and commitment to their homeland, particularly the remote villages of the Lamjung district where they originated.

Having experienced firsthand the challenges posed by a lack of educational and healthcare resources, Shesh and Jamuna have always valued the transformative power of education and the critical need for accessible health services. During the announcement of this charitable act, Shesh Ghale shared touching personal stories of his and Jamuna's childhood struggles, emphasizing how their past hardships have shaped their philanthropic vision.

This record-setting charity fund will focus on providing scholarships to talented but underprivileged students in remote schools, supporting the establishment of libraries, purchasing educational materials, and facilitating necessary training. Additionally, it aims to improve basic healthcare facilities and ensure that these communities have better access to essential health services, motivated by Shesh's personal tragedies due to inadequate healthcare in his family.

As we move forward, the MIT Group Foundation remains committed to bridging the gap in educational and healthcare disparities, ensuring that no bright mind is deprived of opportunities and no individual suffers from preventable health issues due to lack of facilities. We believe this initiative will forge a path toward a brighter, healthier future for Nepal.
